Black & Blue Jig w/ Black & Blue Craw

Everyone knows a black and blue jig with a black and blue craw trailer is a great color for bass fishing. Yet, if you throw it in the wrong conditions you won’t even get a sniff. The best time to use a black & blue jig with a black soft-plastic craw is in dirty, muddy water. When the visibility is low a dark black profile in this color combination works the best. I’ve even found in low light or night switching to this black and blue combo will help keep that jig bite going.

Green Pumpkin Jig w/ Dark Craw

Another lethal color combination for jigs and trailers is a green pumpkin jig with a june bug/dark color craw. This presentation works good when the water is still really dirty, but the visibility might be around 2 – 3 feet. The green pumpkin skirt helps make the bait look a little more natural and the dark craw for a trailer helps the bait stand out more. Deploy this color combination in darker water conditions, and watch your rod close because it will get “Kraked!”

Black & Blue Jig w/ Green Pumpkin Craw

A black and blue jig paired with a green pumpkin craw color combination works really well. A black and blue jig helps provide some good contrast for a reaction, but at rest the natural green pumpkin craw really catches a bass’s eye. Use this color combination when the water clarity is better usually in the 3 – 6 foot range for solid bites. Also, in low light during late evening or early morning this jig and trailer color combo will get chomped.

Green Pumpkin Jig w/ Green Pumpkin Craw

The straight green pumpkin jig and green pumpkin trailer color combination is always a consistent producer. Especially in clear water situations. When you can see the bottom at 8 feet or more a green pumpkin jig & trailer is the most natural look for bass. Bass become a lot more visual feeders in clear water, and with green pumpkin you will get more bites because it appears real. This color combination has always been my main choice because of how clear the high desert reservoirs can get where I fish. When you encounter clear water, throw a green pumpkin jig and craw.
