Enterprise Reservoir Fishing – Smallmouth Bass
Enterprise reservoir is a small body of water located near St. George about an hour north. Enterprise in the past has primarily been a trout fishery, but has since exploded with a large population of smallmouth bass. The bass in Enterprise are on the small size, with a very rare decent sized fish. Who knows why they bass are so small? Nevertheless, it makes for a fun place to take your family to catch large numbers of fish. You can easily walk the banks or fish from a boat. Here’s some more information about Enterprise Reservoir I learned while fishing here with my son.

Enterprise Reservoir Fishing Map
Here are the places we fished for smallmouth bass that produced the best success. We didn’t spend very much time fishing, so we weren’t able to cover a lot of water. Hopefully, these spots can help you catch some bass like we did.
Enterprise Reservoir Best Baits
The smallmouth bass in Enterprise are super aggressive. There wasn’t much they wouldn’t hit. I found the following two lures to be the most fruitful in landing and getting a lot of bites from the smallmouth in here.
The Mud Minnow TRD softplastic was hands down the best for getting a lot of bites. They couldn’t get enough of this thing. This lure worked best on a 1/10 oz ned jig head. A solid spinning rod and reel works best for throwing this set up, since it is super light. Just cast out on those rocky points, and let it set till one sucks it up. This bait was awesome on Enterprise reservoir for catching smallmouth bass.
The 4 inch electric shad senko “kraked” a lot of bass on enterprise reservoir. This bait worked best on a wacky rig, and a spinning rod and reel set up. My 4 year old used this exact bait to catch his first, “by himself” bass. The key was to throw it out into those high percentage areas, and let it settle down to the bottom. Any boulder with shade seemed to hold a bass, and this senko would catch them.

Even though the fish were small, my son had a blast. I totally recommend taking your family out to Enterprise reservoir, so they can have a fun time catching smallmouth bass. The biggest we caught was about a pound. They seemed to like sitting in about 5 to 6 feet of water. If you have any experience fishing enterprise catching some bigger fish, leave a comment below. I’d love to learn more about this lake, and what you have found success with.
